Located in a lush, natural setting with breathtaking views and cool breezes, The Observatory is centrally located on the Gold Coast. Mortons - Urban Solutions have been involved in this project since its commencement approximately 6 years ago and were commissioned by the client during due diligence, to provide engineering input throughout the development approval process and to undertake site analysis work, provide engineering advice, design, contract administration and inspection of the civil construction.

The overall design of the Observatory has had to be sympathetic to the sloping nature of the land and different terrain, which has been successfully achieved by the project team.

The key deliverables for Mortons - Urban Solutions on this project are as follows:

• Detailed subdivisional engineering design.
• Design of on-site stormwater detention basins to complement the landscape and adjacent watercourses, whilst having minimal impact on the environment.
• Coordination of the design and construction of a 3 mega litre, high level RL125 reservoir.
• Design and construction of a Bebo Arch Bridge.
• Design and construction of driveway crossings over swales to provide flood free access.
• Incorporation of rock facing on the box culverts to maximise the aesthetic quality and amenity of the project.
