Project Name: Tamborine Mountain Sports Complex
Location: Long Road, Mount Tamborine
Client: Tamborine Mountain Sports Association
Estimated Project Value: Stage 1 – $7.5m. Stage 2 - $5m+
Project Type: Regional Sports Complex

The Tamborine Mountain Sports Association originally contacted Mortons - Urban Solutions whilst in the preparatory stages of obtaining Commonwealth Government funding for a new regional sports complex proposed on land owned by Scenic Rim Regional Council. The subject site was previously used to graze cattle and contained remains of old farm sheds.

Mortons – Urban Solutions were initially required to provide preliminary Engineering and Town Planning advice to aid in the submission for funding. Upon a successful submission for funding, Mortons – Urban Solutions, in conjunction with the consultant team obtained the required Local Government approvals necessary for construction of the complex. This project will redevelop, over the long-term, about 15 hectares of land into a major regional sporting complex for competitive and recreational sports, as well as facilities for business conventions and seminars. It will help cement Tamborine Mountain’s reputation as a premier tourist destination and provide state-of-the-art sport infrastructure for residents.

Construction of Stage 1 of the complex which includes a combined Cricket / AFL field (including 150 seat Grandstand and Training Wickets), 2 x Football Fields (Rugby and Soccer), 2 x Multi-purpose Junior Sports Fields, 2 x Netball Courts, Clubhouse and Maintenance Shed was completed in June 2010. Future development includes 2 additional Netball Courts, 4 x Tennis Courts, Indoor Aquatic Centre, Caretakers Residence and a BMX / Skateboard Park.
